the gallery itself was only conceived following a massive 5 year consultation process - very germane to today's activities. awareness exhibitions raised public needs along with borough-wide questionnaire's. 16% of questionnaires were returned and over 80% said they were in favour of the gallery.

consultation seminars allowed the public face to face access to those behind the gallery initiative - many public wants and needs were made aware of through this process.

children and the young in general were also consulted in the knowledge that the young of today are the adults of tomorrow or (in a few years anyway).
