INTERЯOGATION:WEST BROMWICH INTERVENTION specialist artists - JUNEAU PROJECTS

following this week's  INTERЯOGATION:WEST BROMWICH introduction presentation, delivered as usual by lead artist Anna Francis, there is the INTERVENTION masterclass delivered this week by Intervention specialists JUNEAU PROJECTS.

As part of their duties today, JUNEAU PROJECTS will be delivering a masterclass presentation on the subject of intervention in the public realm to the assembled artists, using their collective experiences as a base.

Juneau Projects was established in 1999 by artists Phil Duckworth and Ben Sadler. Their work incorporates video, sound and performance-based installations that explore the desire to escape back to nature in the digital age. Early works involved the destruction of electronic gadgets in a stand-off with nature while more recently the duo have focused on maverick music making, collaborating with local youth groups to create the songs, outfits and customised instruments of two rival fictional bands. Mixing traditional crafts and customs with new technologies, from digitally generated wood carvings to woodland-themed computer games, they synthesise the old and new, city and countryside, into their own expression of folk art for the modern age.

With one agent "down in the field" the pressure is on the remaining three agents to intervene and investigate West Bromwich this week. Here are today's three agent artists.

The final mission day has arrived - a day of interventions - artistic responses to the target zone - west bromwich high street. today promises to be a day full of quick, inventive and insightful projects designed to highlight the eastern gateway of the high street and its potential for regeneration.

the day kicks off with the arrival of today's specialist agents - juneau project's phil duckworth and ben sadler. (more about the specialist agents and their specialism later.) agent francis starts with a quick briefing of today's running order.

INTERЯOGATION - THE CONFERENCE

After four successful missions carried out in West Bromwich High Street, this year's INTERЯOGATION programme will come to a conclusion this Friday 1st October with a conference looking at the programme's findings.
