with the first mission now underway, it's time to introduce you to today's main players.

lead artist - anna francis

action research specialist artist - michael pinsky

Michael Pinsky is a renowned British artist whose international projects have created innovative and challenging works in galleries and public spaces. He has undertaken many residencies that explore issues which shape and influence the use of our public realm. Taking the combined roles of artist, urban planner, activist, researcher, and resident, he starts residencies and commissions without a specified agenda, working with local people and resources, allowing the physical, social and political environment to define his working methodology.

INTERЯOGATION:WEST BROMWICH - Action Research

Today is Day 1 of this year's INTERЯOGATION programme, set this year in West Bromwich deep in the heart of the Black Country.

This year's missions are set to investigate the artists' ability to bridge gaps within the public realm - gaps that may be physical spaces, gaps in infrastructure or gaps in time.

Mission 1 is Action Research in which four artist-agents will "do something to find out something". A day full of artistic interventions concentrating on the area of West Bromwich's Eastern Gateway is promised.
